January 1st ~ New Year's Day 2009
According to our calendar, another year has begun and 2008 has come to an end. At this time of year, more than at any other, we analyze the past and make new plans for our future. My wish for you today is that you can look back at the past twelve months with a feeling of peace, accomplishment and fulfillment. To create real eventualities for 2009, believe with enthusiasm, love unconditionally, project a positive attitude and focus regardless of distractions. All things ARE possible! Always remember; "LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE"!

"No one ever regarded the First of January with indifference. It is that from which all date their time, and count upon what is left. It is the nativity of our common Adam." ~ Charles Lamb

"The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months!" ~ Edward Payson Powell

"Happy Birthday!" ~ Frosty
8" x 10" Double Matted and Framed

(I was just noticing all the symbolic elements of this whimsical painting and how it is so
appropriate for today. ie.: the apple - Adam, 1) deer - love, divine connection and pathfinding,
2) snowmen - immediacy, 5) Cardinals- creativity and change)

As Always, Thanking You For Your Friendship And Wishing You All The Best In 2009! ~ Sandy

January 5th ~ Gratitude
I am so grateful to be living in the age of the online global village! It has afforded me relationships and opportunities too numerous to mention here today. I have been on facebook for two months now and have networked with some marvelous new friends as well as rekindled relationships with long lost comrades. My college buddy, Nancy Louie, has been helping me get ready to embark on a new and exciting foray into the world of commercial image licensing. My new friend, Sheila Robinson, has asked me to illustrate her upcoming book and groups such as Michael Murphy's "I Appreciate You", keep me motivated, optimistic and grateful to have so many wonderful people, including you, in my life.

"How fortunate we are to make our life's work centered on experiencing life with depth and creating a soulful response to it." ~ Linda Saccoccio

"Always give without remembering and always receive without forgetting." ~ Brian Tracy

January 8th ~ Thoughts

Thoughts most definitely are things! They shape our life every minute of every day, for better or for worse. Sometimes our thinking holds us back without us even realizing it. By believing that your thoughts create your reality and really focusing your energy and actions on what you desire, anything and everything is possible!

A case in point; Last week I woke up on New Year's Eve Day sneezing my head off. All day, my nose ran like a full blast faucet. I decided that if my friend could cure herself of cancer with her concentrated thought effort, I surely could cure myself of a cold! A box of tissues later, with the help of vitamins and natural remedies, on New Year's Day I was fine except for chapped lips and a red nose!

any higher than you think." ~ Benjamin Disraeli

"Thoughts are energy. You can make your world or break your
world by thinking." ~ Susan Taylor

January 12th ~ Happiness
Abraham Lincoln said that people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. It is a simple statement that yields a wealth of truth. Situations constantly change. The way we deal with physical pain, fear, frustration, stress, loneliness and other negative situations, directly determines our state of mind and ultimately our own degree of happiness. Someone once told me; "It's not so much what happens to you, as how you react to what happens to you, that determines your happiness in life".

"We create our own happiness." ~ Walt Disney

"It takes wit, interest and energy to be happy. The pursuit of happiness is a great activity. One must be open and alive. It is the greatest feat man has to accomplish, and spirits must flow." ~ Robert Henri

January 15th ~ Shine On!
Sometimes we are presented with an unexpected detour in life that doesn't allow us to "stick to our plan". I have experienced it often when driving in unfamiliar territory. I get lost, but end up enjoying the scenery and making new discoveries along the way. I often come away with a feeling that I got side tracked for a reason and I was exactly where I was meant to be. That's the way my life and career have been going lately. Life is change and unless we accept it and go with the flow, we may miss many opportunities for growth along the way.

"We all have to learn to live and work with our Muse. At times the goddess demands more spontaneity, sometimes more planning and control." ~ Sandy Sandy

"My life is like a dream. I have become merely the driver of a vehicle, destination unknown - watching as the magic unfolds." ~ Sandy Sandy

Doing images to submit to stock photo companies has changed my thinking
and my direction a little these days. Yesterday's painting was inspired by my
favorite Pink Floyd song and the start up of the SmARTist Tele-seminar today.

January 19th ~ Growth
Growth is often the result of struggle. In order to grow, we need to move out of our comfort zone and perform tasks that make us feel uneasy. Working through challenging situations will eventually make us stronger and more powerful. Although the learning process of trial and error is often coupled with frustration, it is the only way to achieve greater wisdom and power. The important thing is to make a decision and follow it through with action, even if it is an imperfect attempt. Don't let fear get in your way. Failures are all part of the process, so accept it and boldly push yourself beyond indolence to the next level. In the end, I bet you'll be glad you did.

"Do something beyond what you know, otherwise there is no growth." ~ Billie F. Mathis

"Failure is a precursor to growth." ~ Gina Mollicone-Long

"Imperfect action is better than no action." ~ Giovanna Garcia

January 22nd ~ Change
Obama's efforts to reach out to Republicans is slowly making friends out of his foes. Some former Congressional adversaries are reporting that they have already heard more from the Obama team than they ever did from the Bush administration. Barack's trying really hard to mend differences and put proper channels in place to implement the drastic changes our country so desperately needs. So good citizens, lets all forget our differences and focus now on our similarities! With the power of the "Law of Attraction" lets empower our new leader with a vision of positive betterment; for our country and for our planet. Lets come to together with love in our hearts and a knowing that the time has finally come for positive change! If you can believe it, I know we can achieve it!

"I don't take a dime of their [lobbyist] money, and when I am president, they won't find a job in my White House." ~ Barack Obama

"Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential." ~ Barack Obama

January 26th ~ Water
Yesterday, I watched the awesome documentary; "Water, The Great Mystery" on DVD. Scientists agree, that water is unique and without it, life would not exist. Water is the most common substance on earth and the only one that is naturally present in three different forms - as a liquid, a solid (ice) and as a gas (water vapor). The remarkable feature of this material is that it has been scientifically proven to have a memory! It's structure is imprinted with the experiences and energy it comes into contact with! Experiments showed how loving thoughts and soothing music produced beautiful snow flake like cellular configurations, while negative thoughts and stimuli produced irregular, ugly clumps of cells. One point from the movie really stuck in my mind. It was something to the effect that the human body is composed of 80-90% water. Having negative thoughts, such as fear, hatred, and anger is in effect polluting the water in our own bodies, causing cellular abnormalities and eventually disease. That's why it is so important to treat thoughts as things. Not only do they have an effect on our own well-being, but inevitably on the collective consciousness of our whole water based planet.

"We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one." - Jacques Cousteau

"Water is life's matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water." - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi

January 29th ~ Super Bowl XLIII
Super Bowl XLIII (43) will be played this Sunday, February 1st, in Tampa Bay Florida, with kickoff at 6:20 PM Eastern Time. This years' game will be between the American Football Conference champions, Pittsburgh Steelers (14-4) and the National Football Conference champions, Arizona Cardinals (12-7). The favored team, Pittsburgh, will be going for its sixth Super Bowl win, which would place it in sole possession of the record for most Super Bowl wins, while the Cardinals are seeking their first league title since 1947. Last year over 97.5 million viewers watched the Super Bowl! Tickets for this years' event cost anywhere from $1,400.00 - $101,000.00 each and the Tampa Bay Stadium seats over 72,000 people. A thirty second advertising spot on TV costs $3 million and Jersey boy, Bruce Springsteen will be playing at halftime. I'll be rooting for the underdogs, because since the Eagles didn't make it, I'd like to stick with the Birds!

"If the Super Bowl is the ultimate game, why are they playing it again next year?" ~ Duane Thomas
