March 1st ~ Hope For The Helpless
| This morning my
mind is on helping hands. I searched online and found a wealth
of "helping hands" organizations and communities designed
to HELP THOSE IN NEED. Easy to use and set up, these communities
are worth checking out if you have a need, such as struggling
with the burden of a loved one's illness. The one I checked
out, would help you set up your own online community to assist
with meals, doctors' visits, legal issues and moral support,
all for free! Isn't the internet just amazing and grand? |

It's getting
down to the wire for Baby Hope! I am so disappointed that her
story is in 2nd place as of this post. Please visit the Helen
Woodward Animal Center website if you haven't done so already
and cast your vote for the best story today! I think Sammie's
story may not be as slick as Kaylie's, but it's important and
it needs to be heard!
Please vote now - the contest ends in
just a few hours - March 1st at noon PST!

If you can, please open your
hearts and homes to a rescue pet in need.
Today's image is an original watercolor painting of BABY HOPE
which I merged with one of my watercolor backgrounds. It will
be donated to the Burlington County Animal Alliance. See more
information at : Art
For The Animals . ~ Thanks!

March 8th ~ Spring Fever
| The past couple
of days here have been bright, sunny and warm. It gives me the
motivation I need to get outside and clean up some of winter's
mess. Among the piles of dirty snow and the debris of fallen
branches, I saw the daffodils poking their green crowns up through
the soil today. At that very moment, A blissful feeling come
over me as I felt the fever hit. May the arrival of pleasant
weather energize your body and rejuvenate your spirits too! |

"It's spring fever. That
is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you
want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it
just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!" ~
Mark Twain
"It was one of those March
days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when
it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." ~
Charles Dickens
"Springtime is the land
awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn."

March 11th ~ Life Is A Circle
| Spring always stirs
up a personal kind of earth-based spirituality in me. The sights,
the smells and the sounds enhance my awareness and connection
to nature and beyond. In fleeting quiet moments of bliss,
I breathe in the energy and give thanks to Creator. |

is only one God. No man, be he Red man or White man, can be apart.
We are all brothers after all." ~ Chief Seattle

March 15th ~ In A New York Minute
| We had a hellacious
wind and rain storm Saturday morning which took out a huge tree
and consequently the power lines leading to our house.
We had no electricity, phone or internet for nearly 40 hours.
Without our sump pumps in constant working order in this extremely
wet weather, our basement quickly becomes an under water marine
habitat. It took a lot of scrambling to get set up with generators
with enough juice to run three sump pumps. We finally got reconnected
with Atlantic Electric and Comcast Cable. The pumps are still
holding a finger in the dike as I write. My time today is prioritized
by running wet-vacs, bilge pumps and cleaning up the debris of
two days without running water. That Eagle's song, "In A
New York Minute, Everything Can Change", just keeps going
through my head. I'm sure some of my friends who are reading
this are rolling their eyes and saying, "You really
shouldn't go around spouting off about all the wonders of spring,
like in your last post. Just look at what it got you!". |
